How old do I have to be to attend a course?
In general from 18, but younger students may be considered.
Do I have to bring ingredients?
No, all ingredients are provided by the academy.
How do I know if I am at a Foundation, Intermediate or Advanced level?
Some indication is given on the prospectus, however, if you have any doubts we suggest that you telephone the academy to discuss it with our course administrator and it may be necessary for you to arrange an application interview.
Is there accommodation?
We are a non-residential school. However we can supply a list of recommended local hotels, hostels and B&B’s.
Do the fees include VAT (UK value added tax)?
Yes, unless stated otherwise.
Do you offer vouchers?
Yes, academy gift vouchers are available to purchase from our online shop. General vouchers are available as well as specific course vouchers.
When do I need to pay?
We require the full fees on enrolment
What happens if I cannot attend the course?

Will I be able to cope if I have no previous experience?
Yes on a foundation course only. We will make every effort to help students achieve a satisfactory result.
How many people are there in a class with how many teachers?
Usually 6-8 students with 1 teacher and 1 teaching assistant.
What do I need to bring with me?
All tools and equipment are provided for shorter courses.
For longer courses you will be supplied with a required clothing and equipment list.
Can we drink alcohol whilst in class?
No – it is against the licensing laws.
Do you do food hygiene or health and safety courses?
Only as an integral part of our full time Diploma courses.

Do you have a restaurant or outside catering division?
Yes we have the Peggy Porschen Parlour just across the road from the academy and students will receive a 10% discount for the duration of their class on all products.
